The use of probiotics is gaining interest in the scientific community as a potential measure to prevent this complication. Our findings demonstrate that the daily administration of a fermented milk combining L acidophilus CL and L casei is safe and effective in the prevention of AAD. It also suggests a possible protective effect against CDAD, but the study was not deed to evaluate this hypothesis.
